Perhaps the most exciting new feature of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max is the Dynamic Island. All four of the rumored iPhone 15 variants will purportedly include a new, flexible multitasking notification panel in instead of the notch. It’s impressive that Apple was able to take the divisive notch and make it into an intriguing design element.
Reports show that in the most recent beta of iOS 16.2, Apple has tweaked the Dynamic Island in a little way. Prior to iOS 16, only two icons could be displayed in the status bar of an iPhone 14 Pro due to the narrow width of the Dynamic Island. The battery symbol and the Wi-Fi symbol or the cellular signal strength bars were two of them.
When the iPhone is running iOS 16.2’s beta while music is being played, the Dynamic Island’s width decreases so that all three icons can be seen in the status bar at once. This may not seem important, but it has become a problem for some people who have seen an icon vanish from their phone’s status bar and have worried that there is a problem with their network. This is because the size of the Dynamic Island may obscure the reason for the missing icon.
Keep in mind that the iPhone 14 Pro Max, with its larger 6.7-inch screen compared to the iPhone 14 Pro’s 6.1-inch screen, does not have this issue. Even before the update, the iPhone 14 Pro Max’s bigger display made it possible to view all 3 icons in the status bar at once.
According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, Apple isn’t planning to release iOS 16.2 until the middle of December. However, you can get iOS 16 Beta, where you can get the latest and greatest version of Dynamic Island for your iPhone 14 Pro right away.
