Fans of Honkai and Genshin Impact are worried since the developers of their favorite games are in lockdown. All HoYoverse devs are currently working from home.

Honkai Impact, Tears of Themis, and Genshin Impact were developed by HoYoverse, formerly miHoYo, which is a studio based in Shanghai. The company  constantly releases Honkai anime shorts, Genshin manga, and new content and videos for their YouTube channel.

Given the current crisis in Shanghai, many fans in the game’s community are concerned about possible delays now that we’ve entered the second part of Genshin Impact 2.6. For the time being, it appears that the update will go as planned.

Is 2.7 going to be delayed?

Despite rumors, no delays have been reported yet, based on the official Event schedules given by HoYoverse. The six-week gap between each update for Genshin Impact is still on track, with Genshin Impact 2.7 scheduled for May 11, 2022. However, it’s worth noting that the 2.7 live streams will take place in a few days, and that’s when HoYoverse will most likely announce a delay, if at all.

For the time being, the HoYoverse teams in Shanghai are working from home. The headquarters were closed from April 1 through at least April 5. Employees probably haven’t returned to their workplaces, given the situation in Shanghai hasn’t improved significantly at all.

New characters will be added soon

Genshin Impact 2.6 was one of the most awaited updates ever as it finally added Kamisato Ayato as a playable character and the Chasm as a playable area. Meanwhile, Version 2.7 is another highly awaited update as it will be adding new characters Yelan and Kuki Shinobu, both already popular among the community.
