If you are a fan of this seasonal fast-food item, you should hurry up and get it while you still can as it sounds like this is the last time it will be available for the foreseeable future!
We are talking about the McRib, a McDonald’s sandwich many tend to enjoy during the cold season.
However, with its return this year, there comes some seemingly bad news as well, namely the fact that 2022 may just be its last year as part of the popular fast-food chain’s menu!
Earlier this week, people started to notice that some McDonald’s locations were promoting the fact that The McRib was back, which of course, was really exciting for the fans.
However, this only made navigating the official McDonald’s website and seeing that the popular item might be going away forever even more surprising than otherwise.
Sure enough, on the sandwich’s brand new page, it says that due to a promotion dubbed as the McRib Farewell Tour, this year is the last time we’ll ever get to eat the McRib!
It reads: “The McRib is back! It starts with seasoned and boneless pork dipped in this tangy BBQ sauce, then topped with slivered onions and dill pickles, all of which is served on a toasted homestyle bun. When everything combines you have this BBQ pork sandwich perfection. Get one while you still can because this is the McRib Farewell Tour.”
But before we’re forced to really come to terms with the supposed permanent disappearance of this food item, here are some other things you should know!
First of all, how long will the McRib be available this season?
Well, the official McDonald’s website mentions that you’ll be able to order the delicious sandwich up until November 20 so do it while you still can since the future is so uncertain as far as the McRib is concerned.
In fact, since the last day is also the Sunday before Thanksgiving, you might want to get enough for the whole family as well!
Finally, is this McDonald’s staple sandwich really going away for good?
Given the fact that this is not the first time the chain has held a so-called Farewell Tour for this same sandwich, it’s safe to say that the answer to this question remains to be seen.
The last one was in 2005 and back then, the McRib was not a seasonal item but a permanent part of the menu so something did change.
Since 2007, the McRib has always been around in some capacity, whether as a seasonal item or a limited one at McDonald’s locations all over the U.S.
Then, in 2020, the sandwich was added back as a semi permanent item on the menu in all locations across the country.
Unfortunately, it appears that this is about to change once again!
