Alan Wake was made by Remedy Entertainment for the Xbox 360, and fans have been begging for a sequel for years. After the ending of the first game left us on a cliffhanger, we’ve had to wait a long time for the next one, but now we know it’s coming.
At The Game Awards 2021, Remedy finally gave us some more info about this sequel, which will be released by Epic Games. That comes after the Control: AWE expansion, which showed Remedy’s shared universe and brought Alan back.
How to get it
Alan Wake 2 will come out in 2023 for the PS5, Xbox X and XS, and PC. We don’t really have a clear date for now, but we’ll update you as soon as we learn more.
Alan Wake Remastered is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and PC.
Remedy has said that Alan Wake 2 is a survival horror game, which is different from the first Alan Wake, which they call an action game. Remedy stated: “Whereas the first Alan Wake had horror elements in it, it was an action game. Alan Wake 2 is Remedy’s first survival horror game. Our take on the genre. Our opportunity to truly connect the gameplay and the story. It is a deep, layered mystery.”
They also said that you won’t need to play the previous game in order to enjoy this one: “Playing our previous games is not required in any way to fully enjoy Alan Wake 2, but to those interested, it will add to the backstory of it.”
As of now, we are waiting to hear more. As soon as we learn more, we’ll share the details with you, so stay tuned!
