Those who enjoy playing Gran Turismo 7 will soon have a new reason to jump back on those high-speed cars once again. The 1.29 update will soon become available for the PlayStation 5 version of the game.

It has been confirmed that the highly anticipated Gran Turismo 7 for PlayStation 5 will be receiving full support for the PlayStation VR2 through Update 1.29. This update will be available for download on February 21st and is offered free of charge to players. Upon installation, gamers will have the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in a variety of races and game modes, all with heightened levels of realism. A unique feature included in the update is the “VR Showroom,” accessible from the “Garage” or car dealerships within the game, allowing players to examine the intricacies of high definition car models in various locations and lighting conditions, excluding the “2P Split Screen” mode.

The PlayStation 5 offers several upgrades over older consoles that enhance the gaming experience in racing games. Here are a few ways in which the PS5 is better suited for racing games:

  • Faster and More Responsive Hardware: The PS5 features a faster and more powerful CPU and GPU, which means games can run at higher frame rates with more visual detail and smoother animations. This translates to a more responsive and immersive gaming experience in racing games.
  • Improved Load Times: The PS5’s solid-state drive (SSD) is much faster than the hard disk drives (HDD) used in older consoles, resulting in much faster load times. This means that players can get into races and start playing more quickly, without having to wait for long load times between races or menu screens.
  • Enhanced Graphics: The PS5’s hardware allows for more advanced and realistic graphics, including improved lighting, reflections, and particle effects. This enhances the overall look and feel of racing games, making them more immersive and believable.
  • Haptic Feedback and Adaptive Triggers: The PS5’s DualSense controller features haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, which can provide a more tactile experience when driving in racing games. For example, the haptic feedback can simulate the feel of driving on different road surfaces, while the adaptive triggers can simulate the resistance of acceleration and braking.

All of these improvements make the PS5 a great choice for racing game enthusiasts, offering a more immersive, responsive, and visually stunning gaming experience compared to older consoles.
