Netflix has just now announced that its premium Premium plan subscribers would have access to a wider selection of movies with spatial audio. This summer saw the debut of spatial audio on Netflix, providing a novel and engaging auditory experience for viewers of compatible films and television episodes. Some of the greatest earbuds on the market today, including those from Sony, Samsung, and Apple’s Airpods Pro 2, have spatial audio. However, the high price of these gadgets might be a hindrance to trying anything novel. Netflix’s spatial audio, however, can be experienced without investing in any more gadgets or tools since it works with what you already have.
While the firm doesn’t go into specifics in its latest press release, it did reveal in a summer blog post that it is able to produce such an immersive experience thanks to its partnership with audio equipment manufacturer Sennheiser.
