Apple has released a limited edition variation of the AirPods in celebration of the Chinese New Year, as is its custom every year and in keeping with the company’s longstanding practice. This year, it is for the new AirPods Pro of the second generation, which have been etched with a unique design to celebrate the Year of the Rabbit. The second-generation AirPods Pro were made available for purchase for the first time in September.

On the charging case of the limited edition model is a unique engraving that was done by the customer. On the box itself is printed the same design, but this time in color. Other from that, this version and the normal variation are completely interchangeable, especially in terms of cost.

Apple has been manufacturing these various iterations for a number of years at this point. Apple has created a limited-edition Year of the Tiger variation of the AirPods Pro and Beats Studio Buds for the year 2022. Both of these headphones were manufactured by Beats. In the prior year, Apple released a limited quantity of Year of the Ox AirPods Pro.

The limited edition AirPods Pro will be sold in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan as well as Macau via retail and online retailers in those regions. In addition, Apple is also providing discounts of up to RMB 1,000 on selected items in these locations between the 30th of December and the 2nd of January.

Apple’s retail stores in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, and Singapore will begin hosting free Today at Apple sessions on January 6 and will continue doing so until February 7. During these sessions, customers will be able to use an iPhone to create a New Year portrait that they can then share with their family and friends.

Previously, Apple had limited-edition first-generation AirPods Pro available for purchase in 2021 and 2022 to celebrate the Year of the Ox and the Year of the Tiger, respectively. Apple has said that customers may only purchase a maximum of two pairs of this year’s limited-edition AirPods Pro and that sales will continue as long as supplies do.
