Chapter 88 of the Dragon Ball Super Manga is just around the corner, and the fans have all the reasons to be eager to read it. The last arc having Granolah and Gas as the main stars of the show, ended in a completely unexpected way, leaving room for many possible continuations.

What will Goku and Vegeta do next? Will Frieza be the main villain once again? Could we see a completely new villain for the upcoming arc? Is it finally time for Goten and Trunks to shine? We’ll try to find out in this article!

@DbsHype, who’s well-known on social media as a very trusted leaker when it comes to Dragon Ball content, has done it once again! He has posted a few draft pages for the forthcoming chapter of the Dragon Ball Super Manga!

Training to beat Frieza

Frieza has proven to be overwhelmingly strong when he came back during the Granolah saga, even for the mighty Goku and Vegeta. The former intergalactic overlord has a new transformation up his sleeve, and the two beloved Saiyans clearly have some trouble defeating him at this point. So they are going back to Beerus’ Planet to continue training with Whis, which was perhaps the wisest thing to do.

It would have been inconceivable for either Goku or Vegeta during the Tournament of Power that further training would be necessary to defeat Frieza. The former tyrant was nowhere near the strength of Goku or Vegeta at that point, but we all know that Dragon Ball always finds unexpected ways to settle the score.

One of the leaked draft images shows Frieza reigning over Vegeta, as you can easily see in the tweet. Although this is most likely an illusion triggered by the Saiyan Prince himself, it’s a clear indication from the creators of the manga that Frieza is a much more dangerous foe than ever before. We can’t expect anything good from him, even though he has participated in the Tournament of Power. Frieza is evil to the core, and he will never become one of the good guys.

Teenage Goten and Trunks will prevail

Both Goten and Trunks have been almost completely absent during Dragon Ball Super, but for the new arc, a few years have passed, and the two young Saiyans have become teenagers. Besides their battles with romantic relationships and difficult exams in high school, we can surely expect them to finally go to the battlefield again.

Both Goten and Trunks have recently appeared on a front cover presenting the new manga arc of Dragon Ball Super. Judging by that image, they will clearly receive the leading roles, at least for once. It’s hard to believe that they will prove to be as important as their fathers, but still, let’s not forget that Goten and Trunks have a lot of potential since they are both Super Saiyans.

Back in Dragon Ball Z, when Goten and Trunks were seven and eight years old, respectively, they were the youngest Saiyans to achieve the legendary Super Saiyan transformation. Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan were astounded to conclude such a thing, considering that they had to struggle a lot more back in the day to become Super Saiyans for themselves.

Although there will be some connection to the recent Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie, the new arc of the manga won’t include the latest transformations of Gohan and Piccolo. However, that doesn’t mean that the two warriors can’t shine in the upcoming arc, although it’s pretty uncertain what their roles will be. What’s for sure is that both of them are extremely important Dragon Ball characters.
