The new Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie is still running in theaters across the world, and a lot of fans are delighted about what the show has to offer. Surely it has its flaws, and we even wrote a pretty negative review about it.
But you know what they say that tastes are relative, and it even applies to animated movies. What’s for sure is that both Gohan and Piccolo have new transformations, and although they might not have a compelling story behind them, we can agree that the design looks good.
Gohan Beast is the name of the new transformation of Goku’s son. Gohan’s not holding back, indeed! The new form represents the strongest transformation of the beloved warrior. He obtained it while being enraged at seeing his good old friend Piccolo getting heavily injured by Cell Max.

Piccolo has definitely been unimportant for a long time throughout the Dragon Ball franchise. Although he was once Goku’s sworn enemy even before Gohan was born, Piccolo slowly became one of the good guys and among the most trust-worthy Z warriors. Starting in the Frieza Saga from Dragon Ball Z, Piccolo was pretty much left aside by the writers. He was practically nonexistent in the Cell Saga, as well as in the Majin Buu Saga.
Therefore, it was nice for Toriyama to give Piccolo a very important role in the new movie as well as a new transformation.
Piccolo's got a new look. 🔥 #DragonBallSuperSuperHero

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero has been awaited with great enthusiasm because the fans knew that it would be Goku’s and Vegeta’s turn this time to be left aside by Toriyama. The two beloved Saiyans didn’t participate in the main action at all, leaving the chance for Gohan and Piccolo to shine.
Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is the twenty-first Dragon Ball feature film and the sequel to Dragon Ball Super: Broly that came out in 2018.
