Sonic is back in business with a brand new game in 2022, and it’s called Sonic Frontiers! The game allows you to “experience Sonic like never before,” and your mission as a player will be, in a nutshell, to find the missing Chaos emeralds.

Playing Sonic back in the ’90s or early ’00s was one thing, but enjoying maneuvering the funny hedgehog around in a modern virtual environment offered by the 2022 technology is indeed a new and more entertaining experience.

Sonic Frontiers has been out since Nov. 8

Sonic Frontiers is already waiting for you if you want to play the game yourself. You can run the game on either one of the following platforms: Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/Series S, or Windows PC. The game shows Sonic as you’ve probably never seen him before: ready to rumble by practicing some impressive martial arts.

A new trailer is now out to teach us even more about the new Sonic game, and you’re free to watch it below:

Here’s what a description via Steam of the new Sonic game sounds like:

Worlds are colliding in Sonic the Hedgehog’s newest high-speed adventure! In search of the missing Chaos emeralds, Sonic becomes stranded on an ancient island teeming with unusual creatures. Battle hordes of powerful enemies as you explore a breathtaking world of action, adventure, and mystery. Accelerate to new heights and experience the thrill of high-velocity, open-zone platforming freedom as you race across the five massive Starfall Islands. Jump into adventure, wield the power of the Ancients, and fight to stop these new mysterious foes. Welcome to the evolution of Sonic games!

You can buy the standard version of Sonic Frontiers via Steam for 59.99 euros. If you want the Digital Deluxe, you’ll have to pay 10 euros more.
