Resident Evil Village, which came out in 2021, had to pick up where Resident Evil 7 left off. This wasn’t an easy task, since Resident Evil 7 set a very high standard. But it did prove itself and was even more successful than its predecessor in many ways. Resident Evil Village picked up right where Resident Evil 7 left off, putting players back in the role of Ethan Winters as he sets out to save his daughter.
Capcom announced that they wanted to bring the game to PlayStation VR2. In the trailer, fans can see Ethan Winters and get a close look at Lady Dimitrescu, who scares many people.
From what we can see, the game looks a lot like the regular Resident Evil Village. This shouldn’t be a surprise, since Capcom doesn’t make many changes to its VR games. We don’t get to see much about the game besides the short trailer. It could be a game that comes out at the same time as the PlayStation VR2, or a release date could be announced when the VR2 comes out.
In Resident Evil Village VR, players will be able to use a number of features along with the immersive VR experience. Sony says in a blog post:
“In addition to the PS VR2 headset, you’ll use the PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers to represent each hand in-world. Try guarding using both of your arms, and Ethan will guard in the same way; hold up a gun, and Ethan will hold up his. You are also now able to execute dynamic actions such as firing your gun while holding a knife with the other hand, or holding a handgun with one hand and a shotgun with the other. These advanced controllers increase the player’s immersion with the game.”
