The idea that Apple would switch to using USB-C for its iPhones has been making the rounds in the rumor mill for some time now, and it now appears that the AirPods Pro 2 might be joining the club as well. Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst, predicts that Apple will produce a new version of its AirPods Pro 2 sometime in the second or third quarter of 2023 that would include a charging port that is compatible with USB-C technology.

Apple devotees who have been patiently waiting for a charging mechanism that is standardized across all of their favorite products will be overjoyed to hear this news. In spite of the fact that Kuo does not provide any other information regarding the various enhancements that could be made to the AirPods Pro 2, it is feasible that Apple could make additional enhancements to the audio quality or battery life in addition to the USB-C port.

Because it will have been less than a year since the original release of the AirPods Pro 2, the release of the new AirPods Pro 2 might also signify a big shift for Apple. Although Kuo claims that USB-C variations of the AirPods 2 and AirPods 3 are not in the cards at this time, it is possible that Apple will change its mind in the future and decide to release these models after all.

Those who are not interested in waiting for the new model always have the option of purchasing the AirPods Pro 2 that are now available in the marketplace. And because there is a possibility that the USB-C version will be released, there may be more opportunities to purchase discounts on the original model.

In general, this announcement could signify a significant advancement for Apple users, introducing a universal charging mechanism to not only all iPhones but also to a variety of popular Apple items.
