Samsung has upgraded its artificially intelligent assistant Bixby with child-friendly features that should put parents’ minds at ease.

Samsung says support for this function is currently limited to the United States and South Korea. The business plans to expand help to other areas in the future. Although Samsung hasn’t specified a rollout schedule, the child-friendly upgrade of Bixby may be released in stages throughout the territories that are expected to get it. A post on the Samsung Community forum claims that a kid-friendly version of Bixby will be released in the next update, which will occur in February (via SamMobile). Parents may get access to this by setting up a family group under their Samsung account and then adding their kid to that group. As an extra layer of protection, this allows parents to choose which devices will be allowed to access their child’s account. Ask Bixby questions, hear tales, listen to music, and play games with this update made just for youngsters under the age of 13.

For all intents and purposes, this “kid-friendly” version of Bixby is identical to the unrestricted version designed for adults. Bixby, on the other hand, will only provide them answers and information that are suitable for children of their age. This is a feature that Samsung has created with children in mind, so it’s safe to assume that the games featured are ad-free and won’t keep tabs on the kids while they play. Furthermore, there may be a soft lock for online transactions to prevent your youngster from making unauthorized purchases.

The latest iteration of Bixby from the Korean OEM is just one of several precautions the company has taken to make its products safer for children. With Samsung Kids, children can use their parents’ Galaxy smartphones without worrying about inappropriate content or usage. Parents may monitor their kid’s screen time and establish limitations if necessary, as well as choose which downloaded applications will be visible to the child during usage.
