The world of mobile phones was through a complete revolution some years ago when the touchscreen was introduced for them. At first, few people became fans of touchscreen phones, but nowadays, it’s hard to imagine our lives without them.

While pretty much any touchscreen phone nowadays still has some physical buttons for volume or for shutting down and starting the device itself, Apple might soon prove that they won’t be needed at all for future iPhones. Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst who’s well-known for bringing correct predictions regarding Apple’s plans, is the one who brings the new claim regarding the removal of the physical buttons from upcoming iPhones. Barclays analysts are also confirming Apple’s plans to be true, according to Tom’s Guide.

The buttonless iPhones could launch in 2023

If the new information is correct, Apple will launch its new iPhones that lack physical buttons completely in 2023. The devices are high-end, and they’ll increase the difference between Pro and non-Pro smartphones.

The physical buttons could be replaced by haptic drivers that power the iPhone’s Taptic Engine. The analysts in question stated as Tom’s Guide quotes:

When looking at potential use cases, the largest change in new iPhone models next year is the removal of the buttons, which would require additional drivers for the haptics engine, making it the most likely use case for new content.

Every year around September, Apple releases its new flagship series of iPhones. After the iPhone 14 lineup came out this year in September, it seems more than reasonable for the Cupertino-based giant to bring the iPhone 15 devices next year around the same month. Although there’s still a lot of information to uncover regarding the future flagship lineup of Apple, we can expect superior cameras, a better processor, and more interesting specs compared to what the iPhone 14 series has to offer.
