ATI has also released the Radeon HD 4870 graphics card, one that will surely make some people’s gaming experience better than before. It may not be spectacular, but it can still do its job well even in 2022 if you’re not too pretentious. However, it’s not mandatory to use a graphics card only for your gaming habits, as such a PC part can help a lot in other areas as well. For instance, those who get into the vlogging business often need to buy themselves a better GPU in order to edit their videos more efficiently.

The ATI Radeon HD 4870 graphics card stands out for a few key aspects. For instance, you don’t see many GPU’s with specs like a 256-bit memory bus and a 512MB frame buffer. We also have to mention the support for the full suite of DirectX 10.1 features. The GPU packs only GDDR3 memory, but don’t be discouraged from buying the product just yet!

GDDR5 chips

Radeon HD 4870 is also equipped with some of the latest GDDR5 chips made by ATI, and they’re clocked at 3.6GHz. The GPU’s 512MP frame buffer can surely come in handy as well.

YouTuber ‘Nexus Tech’ didn’t hesitate to put the GPU to the test in a few games. You can see the graphics card at work for titles like Fallout 3, STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl, Half-Life 2, Test Drive Unlimited 2, Far Cry 3, GTA 4, GTA 5, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, and Mafia II:

The game that put the Radeon HD 4870 graphics card in its place is by far Need for Speed: Most Wanted. It became rapidly clear that the 10-year-old game’s graphics were way more than the GPU from ATI could handle.

Overall, it is still reasonable to grab the ATI Radeon HD 4870 graphics card if you don’t have any better options or if you just want to save some money!
