The ‘Gangs of New York’ movie from 2002, where Di Caprio is also part of the cast, has been quite an impressive success. The film scores 72 Metascore on IMDb, and it was nominated for 10 Oscars. There’s no wonder why the 20-year-old movie is now becoming a TV show.

Martin Scorsese is one of those producers and directors who don’t need any kind of presentation anymore. He’s mostly known for movies such as Taxi Driver from 1976 and Goodfellas from 1990, both of them having Robert De Niro in the cast. The fans of ‘Gangs of New York’ are happy that Scorsese will get involved in the TV show adaptation of the 2002 movie.

Scorsese will direct the first two episodes

Martin Scorsese will direct the first two episodes of the ‘Gangs of New York’ TV show when it starts. This isn’t too surprising, after all, considering that Scorsese was also the one who directed the original movie when it came out two decades ago. He adapted the book with the same name, which was released almost a century ago, in 1927. The book presented the New York from the 19th century.

A release date for the TV show adaptation of Gangs of New York is unknown at this point. However, we do know that the show is in the works, which means that we will likely receive a trailer in a few months. Since 2022 is close to its end, the show will probably be officially revealed next year if we’re lucky.

The original Gangs of NEw York movie had some resounding names in its cast, without even counting Leonardo DiCaprio. We could also see Liam Neeson as Priest Vallon, Cameron Diaz as Jenny Everdeane, Daniel Day-Lewis as Bill ‘The Butcher’ Cutting, and more.
