When it comes to upcoming iPhone models, the rumor mill never stops. Here are some of the most interesting speculations regarding the iPhone 15:

Camera

It has been rumored that the under-display front-facing camera would be included in iPhone 15 Pro variants. Apple might implement the technology such that the front-facing camera and the sensors used for Face ID are hidden behind the display. The notch will continue to be included on non-Pro versions for one more year.

Concerning the camera hidden under the display, it is believed that the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models will use the next-generation under-display camera that was created by Samsung and OTI Lumionics. A 5x periscope lens is said to be included in the iPhone 15 Pro phones when they launch in 2023. As previously reported by analyst Jeff Pu, the leak provides details about upcoming iPhone 15 Pro variants with a 5x periscope camera.

The periscope lens on the iPhone 15 Pro will have a 5x optical zoom, and it will come standard on those versions. He claims that the corporation has already been provided with samples of the item in question. Once the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max have been certified, the lens manufacturer Lante Optics might provide Apple with up to one hundred million pieces of the periscope lens.

The periscope lens will make its debut on an iPhone for the very first time with the introduction of the new iPhone 15 series. The rumor mill also indicated that there would not be a SIM card slot included in any devices of the iPhone 15 series released in 2023.

USB Type-C

On the other hand, the iPhone 15 range is expected to be the first iPhone to feature the USB Type-C connection instead of supporting the Lightning cable. This report has been circulating for some time. In his most recent tweet, the well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that the iPhone 15 series would include a USB Type-C connection rather than the Lightning cord.

SIM card slots?

Although there are many who believe that it might happen as soon as this year. The future iPhone series may also be the first handsets to launch without a real SIM card port. This possibility is being considered for the forthcoming iPhone. Apple will soon begin eliminating physical SIM card slots in favor of an all-eSIM design in order to improve water resistance, create a sleeker design, and reduce the overall size of its products.

iPhone 14

It is speculated that the future iPhone 14 series will feature a new model called the iPhone 14 Max, which will debut in September. This model is expected to arrive with a display that is comparable to that of the iPhone 13, as well as an integrated fingerprint sensor. Under the new series, Apple will release four new iPhone models: the iPhone 14, the iPhone 14 Max, the iPhone 14 Pro, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Displays with a refresh rate of 120Hz and 6 gigabytes of random access memory (RAM) will be standard on all iPhone 14 models.

Displays with punch holes and 8 gigabytes of random access memory were said to be included on earlier iterations of the iPhone 14 Pro. It has been speculated that LG Display LTPO 120Hz OLED panels would be used in the production of the 6.06-inch iPhone 14 Pro and the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max.

According to MacRumors, the primary camera on the iPhone 14 Pro models will have a resolution of 48 megapixels, and the device will have 8 gigabytes of RAM. In the iPhone 14 series, the firm is said to debut a new model that will have the largest screen size ever at 6.7 inches, and every model in the Pro series would feature screens with a refresh rate of 120 hertz (Hz).

However, the current source contradicts the previous one and claims that the basic iPhone 14 models of 6.06-inch and 6.7-inch versions would still feature a notch, and that they are not likely to support 120Hz refresh rates.
