The Launch of ‘Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl’ Receives a Delay

Source: Steam

Although Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is one of the most anticipated games of the year, the fans have no other choice than to expect it to launch at a later date than the previously scheduled date, December 8, 2022. The developers from GSC Game World, who have their headquarters in Ukraine, were forced to interrupt the creation of the game at some point because of the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia.

Meanwhile, the development of Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl was resumed. During the Xbox Extended Game Showcase of Microsoft, GSC Game World revealed a new release date for the game, according to Polygon.

‘Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl’ is coming out in 2023

We now have no other choice but to expect the new Stalker game to come out next year instead of December 2022 as it was previously announced. We have no precise release date at this point, but surely updates will come.

Once again, the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia is what’s causing the delay. The confrontation led to the lives of the developers getting seriously complicated, and not only referring to their jobs of finishing the game. Some of the studio’s employees decided to participate in the war themselves.

A new dev diary explains the situation in greater detail. We’re warning you that the footage can be emotionally disturbing:

The official Steam page teaches us more about what to expect from the upcoming game:

Chornobyl Exclusion Zone has changed dramatically after the second massive explosion in year 2006. Violent mutants, deadly anomalies, warring factions have made the Zone a very tough place to survive. Nevertheless, artifacts of unbelievable value attracted many people called S.T.A.L.K.E.R.s, who entered the Zone for their own risk striving to make a fortune out of it or even to find the Truth concealed in the Heart of Chornobyl.

Are you courageous enough to play Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl?
