The classic Google Hangouts is known as one of those apps that people need when they’re willing to video call each other or even send simple text messages. The app is not on Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play Store anymore, according to 9to5google.com. The same source tells us that Google has plans to disable the old Hangouts apps for mobile devices.

Hangouts was seen by many as a great alternative for Skype, WhatsApp, or even other video calling apps. It will be interesting to see if the users can get used to Google Chat, the software that will replace Hangouts. However, the latter was released five years ago, meaning enough for the market to understand the app as much as possible.

What is Google Chat

Can Google Chat support video calls and text messages? Yes, it definitely can! It can also arrange group meetings so that you and your team can discuss your projects as efficiently as possible!

Once you access Google Chat from the desktop version, you’ll see your discussions and contacts from the previous Hangouts app that you’ve used. This is truly amazing, as there will be no need to dig too much to find and link your old contacts. Google Chat should be just as simple to use from a phone as well.

Here’s how the Google Chat app is described by the Play Store:

Google Chat is an intelligent and secure communication and collaboration tool, built for teams. From ad-hoc messaging to topic-based workstream collaboration, Chat makes it easy to get work done where the conversation is happening.

Feel free to tell us about what apps you prefer to use when you need to video call someone! Luckily enough, there are so many alternatives available out there!
