Sure, enjoying your favorite games on a PlayStation 5 console is cool and one of the best gaming experiences a person can have. But we all have to admit that without the technology from the very first PlayStation console that was launched in 1994, there would probably be no games for PlayStation 5, 4, or 3.

Last but not least, we have to admit that there had been some legendary and iconic games that are available for the first, second, and third PlayStation model. This can only mean that there are surely many people out there nostalgic enough to still be willing to play much older games. They’ll surely be delighted by what we have to announce here!

PlayStation Japan teases what could be PS1 to PS3 backward compatibility for PS5

According to DualShockers.com, PlayStation Japan teases something on Twitter that could mean the implementation of backward compatibility of PS1, PS2, and PS3 games for the next-generation PlayStation 5.

The tweet reads:

#Kenshi Yonezu x #PlayStation. Kenshi Yonezu worked on a new ad for PlayStation. 1-2-3 is PlayStation’s icon. Booting on January 23.

As for what kind of backward compatibility the PlayStation 5 machine can run at the moment, the KnowYourMobile.com publication says it all:

While the PS5 does support backwards compatibility for the PS4, games from previous generations, including the PS3, can not be played on the PlayStation 5 console. The PS5 is not backwards compatible with PS3 games, however it is backwards compatible with PS4 games, allowing for the play of select remasters on the PS5.

Luckily enough, the PlayStation 5 console is already capable of running a lot of games, and we can mention great titles such as Call of Duty Warzone, Fortnite, FIFA 22, Dying Light 2, Ghost of Tsushima, Cyberpunk 2077, Battlefield 2042, NBA 2K22, God of War Ragnarok, and a lot more.

Which one of the PS1, PS2, or PS3 games would you like to play on PlayStation 5? Feel free to tell us in the comment section!
