In a new YouTube video named ‘The Secrets of How We’re Making The Warden’, developers have given us a sneak peek at some of the early concepts for the up-and-coming mob.

As you probably already know, The Warden was supposed to arrive in Part II of the Caves & Cliffs update, but it was delayed for the 1.19 version. Besides The Warden, Minecraft comes with “The Wild” update, including a new underground biome, alongside The Allay, Frogs and Fireflies, new Swamps – and that is just the tip of the iceberg.

We are here to tell you everything you need to know about the early concepts of The Warden.

The art has been revealed

A YouTube video called ‘The Secrets of How We’re Making The Warden’ has been updated recently, and it gives us insight into what the developers started with when designing the new mob. And we must confess, the creature looked terrifying. The narrator stated: “finding the balance between sweet and sinister was one of the greatest challenges of designing this nightmare”.

The sculk blocks that are part of the Deep Dark Biome are inspired by Trypophobia. Trypophobia is basically the fear of clusters and small holes.

The Warden had gone through plenty of different designs before they decided on the final, which looked totally different.

Is the 1.19 update here?

As of now, there is no clear release date for the next Minecraft update, The Wild update. it will be released at some point this year, as we are waiting for official details on that.

The Warden will actually be the very first blind mob to be added to Minecraft. It won’t follow you normally, but it would use sculk-like sensors placed on its head in order to detect vibrations.
