My Hero Academia Ultra Rumble has been officially announced by Bandai Namco. We’re wondering whether it’s a new arena battler or, rather, a free-to-play game, that has micro transactions.
The news was first leaked back on the 13th of January, and it’s now finally officially announced.
Boku no Hero Academia is one of the most popular manga out there, so, of course, we’re not surprised to see it getting a battle royale game. But it’s not the first time the manga has received a game adaptation – but this time, it’s different.
Is the game free for PC and consoles?
Bandai Namco has announced My Hero Academia Ultra Rumble as a battle royale game, that will be free, for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. This one will also have micro transactions.
What are micro transactions?
We have learned that only items will be available to buy with micro transactions. This means that you can get cosmetics, and the playable characters will be unlockable in-game, or they will be available from the start.
Shonen Jump has talked about My Hero Academia Ultra Rumble featuring teams of three characters. There will be 24 characters in total in a match. This means there will be eight teams of 3 characters that will fight each other in the battle royale. You will have cards that can make you stronger.
Soon, the company will hold a beta test on PS4, and we cannot wait to see how it will turn out to be. There will be both heroes and villains: Midoriya, Bakugo, Todoroki, Asui, Uraraka, All Might, Cementoss, Mt. Lady, Shigaraki, Dabi, Toga, and Mr. Compress. When the game gets released, there will also be many other playable characters.
