Even the most successful companies on Earth make mistakes. Whether we like it or not, it also applies to Google. After all, you know what they say that there’s no such thing as perfection in life.

The January security update of the Android operating system has been issued, and it fixes the bug that prevented a user from calling 911, according to ArsTechnica.com. Several apps were affected by the bug.

Luckily, Google has been informed about the issue that a user has been through while he was not able to call the emergency services. The tech giant wrote, as quoted by ArsTechnica:

Based on our investigation we have been able to reproduce the issue under a limited set of circumstances. We believe the issue is only present on a small number of devices with the Microsoft Teams app installed when the user is not logged in, and we are currently only aware of one user report related to the occurrence of this bug. We determined that the issue was being caused by unintended interaction between the Microsoft Teams app and the underlying Android operating system. Microsoft has collaborated closely with Google to resolve this unintended interaction.

Android 12 is the latest version of Google’s operating system for smartphones. Android 12 is internally codenamed as “Snow Cone,” and it was announced within a blog post made on February 2021.

Back in October 2021, Google announced the arrival of Android 12L, meaning an interim release of Android 12. This included improvements made especially for tablets, foldable phones, Chromebooks, and desktop-sized screens. Android 12L is planned for launch early this year, and we are already excited about it!

Hopefully, nobody will ever have such awful issues again, like being unable to call emergency services.
