Call of Duty to Stop Releasing Games Each November

Source: eu.shop.battle.net

We are used to getting Call of Duty tiles every November. But it seems that this is about to end. There’s one leaker who believes that Activision does not want to release Call of Duty every year anymore.

Every game from the series is developed by Treyarch Studios, Infinity Ward, or Sledgehammer Games. This means that every developer has about three years to finish their titles. So since 2005’s Call of Duty 2, they had plenty of time to give us a title per year. And it has worked well for more than 15 years, but we might encounter some problems now.

So we’re not getting a new title every year anymore?

According to a leaker, Activision was to prolong the annual release. This means that we won’t get a new title every year, but that it will take more than that to get our hands on a new title. This is good, since we’re getting better-quality Call of Duty, and it will allow developers to spend more time on these games.

Are these leaks true?

Since these are leaks, we must take them with a grain of salt. Fans don’t believe Activision wants to get rid of the annual release, as it would not be a good decision – money-wise. But maybe the company wants to make changes to Call of Duty: Warzone, and that’s why it needs more time between the releases.

As of now, we are waiting for an official statement from the company. We do want new games every year, but we also want quality work, so we think that it might not be such a bad idea, after all.
