When is GTA 6 coming out? That’s a question almost as old as the gaming industry itself. Fans have been waiting for years for GTA 6 to come out, and probably not even a month pass without some rumors and speculations about the future game not emerging online.
Even so, Rockstar has kept its chin up and has been as discrete as possible when it comes to leaking information about GTA 6. We know for sure that the game is under development, which means that an official trailer should arrive any day now. However, new and important info about a potential release year for the long-awaited game is now available.
Is GTA 6 coming out next year?
IGN reveals that the next major Grand Theft Auto game could come out in 2024. To be more precise, the information is more like speculation coming after Take-Two Interactive’s press release. The publisher of the hugely popular Grand Theft Auto series has dropped hints about the potential release of Grand Theft Auto 6. Therefore, it appears that the highly anticipated game might hit the market as soon as next year.
Take-Two shared their projections for the upcoming years. Of particular note is the company’s expectation for Fiscal 2025, which it described as a highly anticipated year for the company. They express their readiness to unleash a plethora of groundbreaking titles that they believe will revolutionize the gaming industry, generating over $8 billion in Net Bookings and exceeding $1 billion in Adjusted Unrestricted Operating Cash Flow. The momentum is projected to continue in Fiscal 2026 and beyond.
It’s worth keeping in mind that the press release doesn’t explicitly mention Grand Theft Auto. However, it’s difficult to imagine any other franchise making such significant strides. Take-Two’s impressive net bookings of $5.3 billion this past fiscal year—a record-breaking achievement—were largely driven due to the contribution of Zynga, a mobile developer they acquired. To reach their goal of $8 billion, Take-Two would need to pursue notable acquisitions or release an extraordinary number of games.
