The latest Dragon Ball movie, which is known as Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, came out last year, and it brought new transformations for Gohan and Piccolo. The two fighters have been under the spotlight for once instead of Goku and Vegeta.
It was just a matter of time until Dragon Ball video games would start to add elements from the 2022 movie into their mechanisms. In an article from January, we spoke about how the Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 fighting game was preparing to include Orange Piccolo in a future DLC. It looks like the devs are raising the stakes even higher, as Gohan’s new ‘Beast’ form is now in line to join the roster of fighters that exist in the game.
Gohan Beast becomes a playable character in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2
According to CBR, Gohan Beast is already available for selection in Xenoverse 2 so that players can use him to run their battles. Gladly, the publication also teaches us how to unlock Gohan’s new form, so let’s cut to the chase!
First and foremost, the characters will have to max out their Friendship with the following characters: Gohan, Piccolo, and Videl. You can increase that Friendship by running some training sessions together.
The next step will be to return to Piccolo and opt for another training session, as well as selecting “Let’s spar” when prompted.

A new side-quest will emerge, and you’ll have the chance to confront Cell Max, the main villain of the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie. Once you take down Cell, you’ll gain access to the Beast transformation and add it to your custom character by simply selecting ‘Beast’ while in the Awoken Skill slot.
Gohan is supposed to be stronger than ever in his ‘Beast’ phase, so it shall be interesting to see how exactly the developers will implement the transformation in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.
