WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging apps in the world. It currently has way over 2 billion active users globally, making it one of the most widely used social media platforms. It is particularly popular in countries such as India, Brazil, and Indonesia, where it is used for both personal and business communication. In fact, WhatsApp is so widely used in these countries that it has become an essential tool for many businesses and individuals.
WhatsApp’s popularity can be attributed to its ease of use, reliability, and security features. The app allows users to send text messages, voice messages, photos, videos, and documents to other WhatsApp users, regardless of their location. It also offers end-to-end encryption, which means that messages and calls are secure and private. Additionally, the app is free to use, which has made it a popular choice among users who want to communicate with friends and family without incurring additional costs.
Therefore, it can only be in the developers’ best interest to try to satisfy those numerous customers as much as possible.
Get ready for ‘WhatsApp Channels’!
According to Gizchina, WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new feature called “WhatsApp Channels,” inspired by Telegram’s popular feature known as “Telegram Channels.” The feature was initially known as “Private Newsletter,” but it was later renamed “Channels.” The feature will be located in the Status tab, which will be renamed “Update.”
WhatsApp Channels allows users to subscribe to accounts that they are interested in receiving newsletters from, similar to Telegram Channels. Despite being the most widely used instant messaging app, WhatsApp still lacks certain features compared to its competitors.
WhatsApp Channels is still in development, so it may take a few weeks before a precise release date is announced. But we all know what they say that good things come to those who wait!
