Later in 2017, Samsung released an app called Camera Assistant for the Galaxy S22 series, allowing users to fine-tune their smartphone’s photo settings. It was a great feature that provided a finer-grained experience, but it wasn’t made accessible to other Samsung phones at the time. Thankfully, Samsung would weigh in before the year was out, assuring fans that the app will be made available to a larger audience in the future. Now, Galaxy phones with Samsung’s latest One UI 5.1 upgrade may download and use the app.
The Camera Assistant app now reached the newly announced Galaxy S23 series, as well as the Galaxy S20 and S21 series. Furthermore, both the Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4 may now benefit from the Camera Assistant app. To recap, the aforementioned gadgets need to be updated to Samsung’s One UI 5.1, which is based on Android 13. If you’re not sure, you may check this out under the About phone part of the Settings menu. You should be able to see the version of the operating system your phone is on here. If your phone isn’t running the newest One UI 5.1 update, you may get it through the Software update menu.
In case you haven’t heard of it before, the Camera Assistant app allows you to adjust various camera parameters, such as the amount of photos taken while using a timer or whether or not HDR or skin softening are enabled. Users will also have the ability to adjust the shutter speed, which is useful when attempting to capture moving subjects in a shot. Furthermore, users will have access to a function that determines the optimal lens for the current conditions. Furthermore, by holding down the shutter button throughout the photo-taking process, users may also record a short video using the new Quick Take feature.
