If you remember the fierce and devastating battle between Goku and Piccolo during the 23rd Martial Arts Tournament back in the old days of the very first Dragon Ball series, it means that you may have some great taste when it comes to anime. Our favorite Saiyan literally gave it all during that fight, and the animation was just superb. Even current Dragon Ball animators could certainly learn a lot from those days.
It seems that Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will feature exactly that tournament as a new arc in an upcoming DLC. We can relive the first days of Goku as a teenager, but also Piccolo’s sadism and thirst for achieving world domination. Fighters like Tien, Yamcha, Kami, Mercenary Tao, and Krillin also had a lot to prove during that tournament.
Dragon Ball: 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai Arc will become the 5th DLC
The last DLC of Dragon Ball Z Kakarot was the one having Bardock as the star of the show. It seems that soon enough, players will get to participate in the 23rd Martial Arts Tournament. The information comes straight from @DbsHype, which is a very reliable source when it comes to accurate Dragon Ball-related predictions and rumors.

Goku was light-years weaker during that specific tournament compared to his strength in Dragon Ball Super, but still, the show can prove to anyone that there is life without Super Saiyan transformations and insane power-ups.
The first Dragon Ball series, also known as Dragon Ball, premiered in Japan in 1984 and ran until 1995. It consists of 519 chapters collected in 42 tankōbon volumes. The series follows Goku from his childhood through adulthood as he trains and explores the world in search of the Dragon Balls.
Too bad Master Roshi didn’t participate in the 23rd Martial Arts Tournament. But Dragon Ball Super did a pretty nice job by “reviving” his fighting spirit.
