Apple isn’t in as much of a hurry to release a new version of its wireless headphones (the AirPods Max 2) as it is to release new iPhones and iPads. If we follow Apple’s release pattern, though, we may not have to wait too long for the AirPods Max 2 to arrive with some welcome upgrades.
It’s been two years since the release of the AirPods Max, but Apple has yet to unveil a follow-up model. Additionally, there was a lack of information on the premium cans’ appearance or augmented features. However, we have included other details that are crucial, such as the launch date and price.
Beginning in the first week of December 2020, consumers were able to purchase the AirPods Max. Given that rivals like Sony have already announced new headphones like the WH-1000XM5, it’s clear that it’s time to upgrade the over-ears. It’s likely that Apple will unveil the AirPods Max 2 during next year’s WWDC in June, or maybe at a separate event. However, Cupertino might decide to unveil the iPhone 15 with iOS 11 at a later period, perhaps at the end of 2023.
When will the next-generation AirPods Max be released, and what will they offer?
Apple has been quite secretive about the ANC-ready AirPods Max 2, with regard to both the stated and undisclosed features and characteristics. On the basis of the AirPods Pro 2, however, we may anticipate significant hardware and software enhancements.
There is now a proprietary Lightning connector on the back of the AirPods Max headphones, although this might be changed with a USB-C connection in the future. To comply with the new European standards rule, Apple is including the universal charging connection on its iPhones. With the updated standard, charging times for the AirPods Max 2 should decrease.
Apple’s second-generation over-ear headphones, which have touch controls, is another example. The original AirPods Max include a number of controls for playing music and toggling between settings in the earcups. We can’t rule out the possibility that cutting-edge equipment like ultrasonic sensors is used in these touch-based controllers.
There’s also a chance that the next-gen AirPods Max may have detachable earcups so you can customize your headphones to match your outfit. Apple explored including the ability to switch the earcups in the original headphones so that they could be used with the customisable cans, but ultimately decided against it. There is a higher possibility of this occurring with AirPods Max 2.
