Sanela Dijana Catic was born on October 24, 1973, in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. She is the sister of Irnis, her only younger brother. Each parent works in a different field; mom is an accountant and dad is an economist. Sanela was a child of the Soviet Union and the communist period. War broke out when she was finishing up her economics degree at the University of Sarajevo. She and her family escaped to Croatia after her brother was killed there. A year later, they uprooted and moved to London, England so that their daughter could attend City University. Her academic accomplishments include degrees in both economics and computer science, which she pursued under her English name, Sanela Diana.
Career
After graduating from university, Diana worked several jobs to build up enough money to start her own jewelry company. She was able to use its enormous popularity to begin a new career. She co-founded the Melissa Odabash swimsuit label with the fashion model of the same name. Next, she established Neuro Drinks and moved to Sherman Oaks, California. Jenkins has started an independent musical label called D Empire Entertainment. Most recently, she has joined the cast of RHOBH for season 12, which premiered in 2022.
Charity
Diana Jenkins established the Irnis Catic Foundation in 2002 after the passing of her brother. This foundation provides essential funding for the medical centers of the University of Sarajevo. She co-hosted a Mayfair, London benefit for Darfur genocide victims with actor George Clooney. Together with UCLA the same year, she launched the Sanela Diana Jenkins Human Rights Project. After that, Jenkins started several humanitarian initiatives in the Congo and Haiti. She released a photographic book titled Room 23 in which several of her famous pals made cameo appearances. It donated 100% of its earnings to good causes.
Diana’s first taste of success financially came through her bikini brand, Melissa Odabash. Yet she owes a great deal of her money to the divorce settlement she received from her marriage to Roger Jenkins, an executive at Barclays Bank. She received £150,000,000 as settlement when they divorced.
