Let’s admit it: very few of us are actually comfortable with seeing some of our personal information in Google search results. Software engineers from the Mountain View-based tech colossus have thought about this aspect.
According to news.alhayat-life.co, Google presented a new tool during the I/O conference this year that allows users to easily remove their personal info from Google search results without having to open a new webpage. In other words, the new software tool will be directly integrated into the search results.
What info can you remove
The new tool offered by Google can be used to remove crucial information such as your email, phone number, or address. As soon as you see any of such personal info exposed in a search result, you can easily remove it. You’ll just have to tap the three dots that appear, confirm the information to be a phone number, an email, or a physical address, and ultimately confirm the deletion. However, you’ll still have to wait for Google to review your demand, but it shouldn’t take long.
We all know that old saying that you can’t have your cake and eat it too. Here’s an important statement from Google, as Engadget quotes:
It’s important to note that when we receive removal requests, we will evaluate all content on the web page to ensure that we’re not limiting the availability of other information that is broadly useful, for instance in news articles. And of course, removing contact information from Google Search doesn’t remove it from the web, which is why you may wish to contact the hosting site directly, if you’re comfortable doing so.
The new Google feature is already rolling out in its beta form. You’ll just have to equip yourself with some patience!
