Let’s admit it: nobody likes to conclude how much battery power is left on their iPhone by seeing an icon with a layer in it of a different color. Seeing a percentage in the battery icon without having to do anything complicated was ideal, and it’s nice to see that Apple seems to agree with us as well.
For the first time in five years, iPhone users will once again have easy access to the battery percentage indicator due to the iOS 16 developer beta, as Engadget reveals.
Look for the ‘Battery Percentage’ option
First and foremost, you need to keep in mind that there are several iPhone models that won’t be featuring the new battery percentage indicator: iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 12, as well as iPhone 13 mini.
Once you are enrolled in the developer beta, you get the option of adding the new indicator by rummaging a bit through the Settings menu. You’ll have to go to the Battery section, to be more precise, where you’ll see a new option called ‘Battery Percentage.’ Don’t hesitate to access it!
Back in July, our publication presented the “iOS 16 Beta 3: Check Out All The Latest Features” article, where you can learn about features for personalizing the lock screen and more stuff that’s on the way for iOS 16.
The stable version of iOS 16 will arrive at a later date this year, and there’s no information available yet about a precise release date. It remains to be seen whether the new battery percentage indicator will remain in the stable release of Apple’s operating system or not. But since most users want the feature, our guess is that it would be absurd for the Cupertino-based tech giant to get rid of it.
Feel free to tell us what you want to see most in iOS 16!
