Ubisoft’s Roller Champions Could Also Get Canceled

Source: Ubisoft

We spoke in a previous article about the arrival of Ubisoft’s Roller Champions for Nintendo Switch consoles. The title is an online sports game that seemed destined to unite a lot of players due to its immersive gameplay.

Roller Champions is also available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, GeForce Now, and Windows PC. Last but not least, the game is also free to play, which is surely an extra strong incentive to try it out! But if new information coming from Giant Bomb journalist Jeff Grubb via the Xbox Era podcast is correct, the game will be canceled after Season 3. You can hear the claim at some point in the podcast after1:23:00.

Ubisoft explains the gameplay of Roller Champions as follows:

In each match, you and two teammates will face off against another team of three in an elliptical arena. The goal is straightforward – reach five points before your opponents do – and the basics are easy to grasp. Keep control of the ball by skating and passing, steal it from your opponents with a well-timed tackle, and make a full lap of the arena to open up the goal and take your shot.

We should definitely consider the claim of Roller Champions getting canceled by Ubisoft as potentially true. Just a few days ago, information surfaced online about the French developer canceling four games due to financial concerns: Splinter Cell VR, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Frontline, and two other titles that weren’t revealed. Therefore, it could happen once again in the case of Roller Champions. But at the same time, it’s our duty to take the news with a pinch of salt.

Stay tuned to find out what Ubisoft has to say about the possibility of Roller Champions getting canceled! Surely the company will respond sooner or later, as the game has a lot of players.
