Let’s be honest: the Dragon Ball brand sells incredibly well. That means that it would be absurd for companies not to take advantage of the situation by producing new video games, toys, and more.
‘Dragon Ball: The Breakers’ is the name of an upcoming game that will be featuring Frieza as the main villain, and where it seems to be the players’ job to find a way to not get their character killed by the evil tyrant. You know, just like in the good old Dragon Ball times, when the Saiyans, Namekians, and other folks were terrified by Frieza’s diabolical way of dealing with things!
Dragon Ball: The Breakers comes out on October 14
Those willing to play Dragon Ball: The Breakers will have to wait for about three months more. As you’ve already guessed, we’re talking about a survival game. What’s perhaps even more interesting is that the title will be an online game. This is a clear hint that you’ll get to compete against many other gamers and Dragon Ball fans!
The first thing that caught our attention in this game were the sound effects, which had been recreated very faithfully. To make matters worse, Frieza won’t be alone in this game. He’ll receive help when needed from his trusted henchmen Dodoria and Zarbon, just like in the Dragon Ball Z anime.
Judging by the trailer, we don’t see any of the Z warriors around, except for some kind of brief flashback of Goku. Instead, we can see Bulma and Oolong, who are not fighters, but they were indeed present in the Dragon Ball Z anime.
Except for Frieza, we can see in a poster of the game, in the video itself, that the other two major villains of DBZ will also be present: Cell and Majin Buu. However, there’s no telling at this point what their role will be in the game, but they surely won’t be giving flowers to the ladies.
Dragon Ball: The Breakers will be available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
