It’s nice to see that more and more phones are receiving Google’s latest version of its mobile operating system. Samsung Galaxy M01 is an entry-level phone, the kind of device that you would only recommend to someone who has no idea of how to use a smartphone.
Samsung released the Galaxy M01 model two years ago when the COVID pandemic was causing a lot of lockdowns and panic across the world. The device is equipped with 32GB of storage, a Snapdragon 439 processor, and the main camera setup of only 12MP, as the most notable specs. But despite the modest specs, Samsung Galaxy M01 is still getting the update to Android 12.
Watch out for firmware M015GXXU4CVF6
According to GSMArena, those living in India who own a Samsung Galaxy M01 are already getting their Android 12 update. Other markets will benefit from the update as well in the next several weeks. The firmware is M015GXXU4CVF6, and it also comes accompanied by OneUI 4.0 and the June 2022 security patch.
However, it’s important to remember that the Galaxy M01 model won’t receive the Android 13 update that’s already coming out in its beta form. It’s surprising enough that such an entry-level phone is receiving an update to Android 12.
Here’s more to learn about Android 12 as it appears on Google’s blog:
Android 12 builds on everything you love about Android, and focuses on building a deeply personal phone that adapts to you, developing an operating system that is secure by default and private by design, and making all your devices work better together.
If you want to buy yourself a Samsung Galaxy M01 model, you’ll only have to invest about 110 euros.
