Google Keep is the Mountain View-based tech giant’s idea to keep multiple critically useful apps in one place. However, we can argue that Google Keep was initially made just as note-taking software.

Since we don’t want to play devil’s advocate, let’s view the service as most people do it: one used for storing multiple apps in one place. AndroidCentral now reveals a new update for Google Keep that will surely delight every user since it brings the possibility to easily pass images to other apps.

Send images from Keep to other apps through the drag and drop technique

Google Keep’s new feature allows users to manage their photos in a much more comfortable way than before. They can simply drag and drop their preferred images from Keep to other apps, and the feature is already being rolled out. This means that if you have an Android phone or a tablet that runs on Google’s mobile operating system, all you need to do in order to benefit from the new update is to keep your device connected to the internet. And, of course, you need to have Google Keep installed already.

The drag and drop method will even work in the case of apps that weren’t built by Google. In other words, you shouldn’t expect to pass images using drag and drop only from Google Keep to the Google Photos app, for instance.

Google even announced the new move via the Google Workspace Updates blog, where it said:

You can now effortlessly insert images saved in your Keep notes into other apps by dragging them out from the image carousel on Android devices.

The same source even provided a guide to show you step by step how it works, just in case you still can’t wrap your head around the new feature.

People can use Google Keep to access Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Forms, Google Slides, and more.
