Music brings people together, but for a lot of folks out there, not just any music will do the trick! That’s why Spotify allows users to be as selective as possible when it comes to what music they want in their playlist. They can choose from death metal to classical music when it comes to the desired genre, and there’s a total of over 70 million songs in the app.
But knowing as much as possible about what your friends are doing on Spotify seems to have become a ‘must.’ Otherwise, how can you be sure that they keep listening to the same music that creates the bond between you and them? The developers of Spotify seem to have thought about this aspect as well.
Welcome, Spotify’s “Community”!
According to TechCrunch, Spotify is currently working on the “Community” feature for those using the music streaming app on smartphones. What the new feature will do is it will allow users to stalk their friends more efficiently by seeing what they are listening to in real-time, as well as keeping track of their latest playlists.
Spotify has a lot of users out there to please, and any wrong step would be a mistake. The app had 182 million subscribers worldwide who opted for premium deals as for the first quarter of the current year.
Spotify has already been downloaded an incredible number of times from the Google Play Store: over 1 billion times. That’s indeed amazing, considering that there are so many alternatives out there when it comes to apps that can be used to listen to music: Apple Music, Tidal, YouTube Music, Amazon Music Unlimited, and more.
The “Community” feature is now in its early testing phase, which means that there is still plenty of time to wait until Spotify will release it. Stay tuned to find out more!
