It’s been only ten days since ‘Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero’ came out in theaters from Japan. Toei Animation can already boast about an incredible financial milestone that the new film has reached, and it was somewhat expected.
‘Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero’ brings both Gohan and Piccolo under the spotlight, a recipe that has been long forgotten in Dragon Ball. Goku’s son and his very first trainer have to deal with the biggest foe by themselves, without the help of the beloved characters Goku and Vegeta. Gohan once again needs to awaken his tremendous dormant powers and take off his glasses after leaving aside training for studying. Piccolo is most likely the only one who can motivate him enough in the process.
‘Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero’ exceeds 1 billion yen at the box office
According to comicbook.com, the new Dragon Ball movie surpassed the incredible milestone of 1 billion yen at the box office. 1.08 billion, to be more precise, which is equivalent to about $8 million.
But surely you’re wondering why on Earth are Goku and Vegeta not participating in trying to take down the greatest foe this time. The answer is quite simple: the two pure-blooded Saiyans are busy training with Broly and Whis. That’s indeed a good decision, considering that Broly has proven in the previous movie known as ‘Dragon Ball Super: Broly’ that came out in 2018 to be just about as strong as Gogeta, meaning the fused form between Goku and Vegeta.
Surely there is more to learn about Goku and Vegeta being left aside for the main battles in the new movie, but we’ll probably all find out when the show becomes available in the theaters in our countries.
