Telegram has gathered enough notoriety to now consider that it’s a good idea to offer a premium subscription option for users. Seen as a worthy alternative to WhatsApp, especially during some hard times for the Meta-owned app, Telegram now counts over 700 million monthly active users.
TechCrunch brings the news about both the huge fanbase of Telegram and also about its new Premium subscription option. There are also some additional features in this tier, and you surely need to learn a bit about them!
The monthly fee is between $4.99 and $6
The new subscription option contains plenty of interesting stuff. It offers support for sending larger files between users, as well as faster downloads. There are also 1,000 channels available to follow instead of 500 as it was previously. Users will also get to create a maximum of 20 chat folders with a maximum of 200 chats in each of them.
If switching between accounts is one of your favorite sports, Telegram has you covered on this one as well! The new Premium tier allows users to add a maximum of four accounts to the app.
The developers of Telegram didn’t reveal the exact fee for the new subscription option, but it’s placed somewhere between $4.99 and $6.
Here’s how Telegram’s description sounds via the Google Play Store:
Pure instant messaging — simple, fast, secure, and synced across all your devices. One of the world’s top 10 most downloaded apps with over 500 million active users.
FAST: Telegram is the fastest messaging app on the market, connecting people via a unique, distributed network of data centers around the globe.
The new Premium tier of Telegram is currently being rolled out, which means that you shouldn’t act impatient if it hasn’t arrived on your phone yet! Just make sure you’re keeping your gadget connected to your WiFi, and the update will arrive soon faster than you can say “Telegram”!
