A 60fps fix for Assassin’s Creed Origins is on the way, according to a PlayStation database entry. Interestingly, this isn’t the first time the franchise’s Ancient Egypt-based adventure has been upgraded for the present generation. Ubisoft said on AC Day last year that it was looking into 60fps compatibility for AC Origins. Many fans were excited by the teaser, despite the lack of information.

After almost two years of waiting, Assassin’s Creed fans are finally getting their wish. Ubisoft released a post-launch update for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla shortly after its release, bringing 60fps support to the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. The 1.6.0 update for AC Odyssey, which was released in August of that year with a launch date of 2018, also brought the game up to 60 frames per second. As one would expect, AC Origins players immediately began asking for an update that would improve the game’s framerate on the latest hardware. At this point, it seems as though the long wait for such an upgrade will be over very soon indeed.
The 60fps update for AC Origins has yet to be confirmed by Ubisoft. Players will be able to experience Medjay Bayek’s journey through Ancient Egypt at 60 frames per second before the end of the month thanks to PlayStation Game Size’s impressive track record. If this is the case, we may expect an official statement within the next several days.
In 2017, Assassin’s Creed Origins was released for PC and last-generation consoles, telling the story of the Assassin’s Brotherhood’s origins, which would eventually be known as the Hidden Ones. This genesis tale follows a course that also crosses paths with the occurrences of AC Odyssey and AC Valhalla, which is rather interesting to note. The Hidden Ones’ founder Aya may trace her ancestry back to the Odyssey’s heroine Kassandra. In addition, Kassandra has just featured in the crossover DLC for AC Valhalla, due to her longevity.
