Digimon Survive – that’s available on PS4, Switch, Xbox One, Steam – has been delayed multiple times by Bandai Namco and Toei Animation, but it now has a release date in 2022. The tactical JRPG comes with important choices that might lead to key character deaths, and it had a terrible development history. Here’s all you need to know.
So when is the release date?
Bandai Namco has announced that Digimon Survive will be released on the 28th of July, 2022, in Japan. We’ve learned so far that the game will come with a great battle system, amazing characters, branching story routes and endings, and plenty of new content. There’s a new Digimon Story in the works, as well.
We’ve heard that the development of Digimon Survive was restarted some time ago, and that’s why the game got delayed so much.
Back in October, Digimon Survive producer, Kazumasa Habu, has talked about the development of the game. He said they needed more time, and that their release date would be in 2022. He added that it wasn’t an easy decision to make, but that the team needs to work more on the quality of Digimon Survive.
Also, back in 2021, Toei Animation published details about their first quarter of that fiscal year, which ended in March 2022.
