Despite remaining a highly-popular game, GTA 5 still has its shortcomings. Nobody and nothing is perfect, after all, and it even applies to GTA 5. Some players are now upset about getting banned from the online mode (aka GTA Online) for simply running the story mode of the game, according to ComicBook.com.
Oddly enough, only players running the updated version of GTA 5 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles have to deal with the inconvenience. Rockstar relaunched the game this March for the aforementioned platforms.
How to avoid the ban
Avoiding the ban seems to be pretty simple, however. All the players have to do is just launch GTA Online from the main menu. However, we can expect that the inconvenience is just an error that will be fixed in a future update issued by Rockstar.
URGENT: Do not switch to GTA Online when playing Story Mode. There are ongoing reports from players that switching is causing and resulting in false GTA Online bans across PS5 and Xbox Series consoles.

Otherwise, the online mode of GTA 5 remains incredibly popular, and there’s no telling when the fans will get enough of the famous game. However, there seems to be no reason why they should. There’s still no official word from Rockstar about GTA 6, even though the game is under development for quite a while. After an official trailer is released, there will still be months or even years left to wait until the launch of the game itself.
Here’s what Rockstar itself has to say about the trailer:
In Grand Theft Auto Online, you’ll have the freedom to explore alone or with friends, work cooperatively to complete missions, band together to participate in activities and ambient events, or compete in traditional game modes with the entire community, all with the personality and refined mechanics of Grand Theft Auto V.
GTA 5 is available for a wide range of platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows PC.
