It’s possible that Microsoft may host its own program once more. Following the cancellation of E3’s physical event for the second year in a row, rumors have surfaced that Xbox is planning to host its own video presentation again. According to journalist Jeff Grubb, we might see the Xbox show at some point in June, but he does not leave out a May or September show either.
Grubb went on to say the following: “I’ll probably have more to say on this soon, but it’s in June, not May. Well, they might do something in May or September, I don’t know, but I know that they’re planning for an E3-style show in June. They’re talking to partners to get big games in there. That is ongoing right now and it’s March, so it’s not like they can change that train or turn that big ship around. They are heading in that direction and they’re going to do something in that timeframe.”
According to reports, Xbox will have an E3-style showcase in June.
The company has already hosted multiple online presentations, so a new Xbox show would not be quite unexpected. During the previous year’s E3, the Xbox and Bethesda showcase lasted around 90 minutes, during which time it was revealed that Starfield would be released on Xbox exclusively.
E3 is now a digital-only event after the restrictions put in place by the ongoing pandemic. The ESA will come with another digital-only E3.
Considering that the E3 event is generally held in June, we will probably hear more announcements from Microsoft in the following weeks. We’ll update you as soon as we learn more.
