The Lord of the Rings will soon be on everybody’s mind yet again. We all know there will be a new TV show coming to screens, but did you know there’s also an anime movie in production?
The movie will be called The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim, and it will come from Warner Bros. Pictures. Its release date will be somewhere around 2024. We know some details about it, and we are ready to share them.
So when is the release date?
The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim will be released on the 12th of April, 2024. And since we got the release date, we also got a first concept art from Weta Workshop.
The film will get us into the fortress of Helm’s Deep, which is one of the most important locations that appeared in The Twin Towers.
‘It is set hundreds of years before filmmaker Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, which included a lengthy battle sequence taking place at the fortress. The anime film will also dive into the blood-soaked era of the mighty king of Rohan, Helm Hammerhand.’
The project comes from Warner Bros. Animation and New Line Cinema. The movie will be directed by Kenji Kamiyama, who also worked on Blade Runner: Black Lotus – another successful anime project. The executive producer will be Philippa Boyens, who worked on Peter Jackson’s projects.
The Lord of the Rings is a series of three films directed by Peter Jackson. They are based on the novels written by J.R.R Tolkien. The three films, The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and The Return of the King are now among the classics.
