Final Fantasy 7 is celebrating its 25th anniversary. The game was released back on the 31st of January, 1997, and there will be a special stream, but no news about the remake, unfortunately.
Final Fantasy VII was the first one that Japanese players have ever played. The PS1 game is still well-known and loved by fans. It’s also the one that has the most spin-offs. They all form the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII.
Square Enix has launched a remake project, named Final Fantasy VII Remake in 2020. And ever since then, the company has started to work on the sequel. Nomura has also talked about it, and now, we’re all waiting for new details on Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2.
When the remake was first announced, everyone thought it would be a full remake. However, it was later shown that the remake would focus on the Midgar part of the story, and that they would make more content for the story to make it at a length of a full game. After the FF7 Remake was released, we learned that it would be a retelling of the story.
What about the anniversary stream?
Many Final Fantasy VII fans have shared the news on the internet about the “Final Fantasy 7 25th anniversary stream”. But if we’re taking a look at the official announcement for that stream, it was written from the Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier Japanese Twitter account. It was announced on the 26th of January, and it will be held on the 31st of January, at 5 AM EST.

The official description of the stream says: “New information about Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier will be shared”.
With all of this being said, we should not expect anything else. The stream should be fun, and we cannot wait to see Tetsuya Nomura and Yoshinori Kitase talking about their memories of Final Fantasy VII. The stream will also include Kasumia Ashizawa and the FF7 The First Soldier producer, Shoichi Ichikawa.
