Rainbow Six Siege Y7S1 is what’s next for the game – a major update – and it might come sooner than expected. We’re here to tell you everything we know so far from Ubisoft.
2022 comes with the release of Rainbow Six Extraction – the famous spin-off for the Siege universe. We are all eager to find out more about what their plans are in the 7th year of content.
So when is the release date?
As of now, we don’t have a clear release date for Rainbow Six Siege Y7S1. Unfortunately, there’s no news about the new season on live servers, either. But we’re bound to find out more during the game’s annual Six Invitational event.
What is the Six Invitational event?
The Six Invitational event is the biggest Rainbow Six Siege one from the entire year. It is an annual esports tournament that’s hosted by none other than Ubisoft.
The Group Stage will occur from February 8th to 12th, and then the Playoffs from February 14th to 20th. The Grand Final will take place on the 20th of February. At some point, Ubisoft might say something about Year 7, so we are patiently waiting.
Of course, Y7S1 will need testing, and the new season might be here in March, 2022.
What will it be about?
Year 7 is still a mystery, but we think it won’t be that different from Year 6. There will probably be four different Operations released, a rework of the map, and various changes and bug fixes.
About Operators
Of course, the Operators are still months away from their release, but you know how the internet is – full of leaks. Back in November, a user claimed that one of the new operators was called Azami. Another one saw an operator called Flubber. We think the latter is actually a placeholder name, but there’s one other interesting thing: one of the Operators will have a gadget called “Kiba Barrier.”
