Spider-Man: No Way Home tells the story of numerous universes, timelines, and, of course, numerous villains from the MCU. The villains in question are Dr. Octavius, Normas Osborn, and Max Dillon, and they come from the Spider-Man trilogy and The Amazing Spider-Man duology. In trailer, we’ve also seen Sandman from Spider-Man 3 and The Lizard from The Amazing Spider-Man, which means that they are also returning. Now, we have to deal with five villains.
Tom Holland has stated that the trailer we’ve all seen is just the tip of the iceberg. The movie is more than just these five villains. Jon Watts, the director, has connected the movie to the Endgame, saying it’s the end of the franchise. Spider-Man tries to run from Doctor Strange while still having the magical artifact.
People think that Strange should take the blame for everything that happened. Yes, Peter has, indeed, asked for the spell, but Doctor Strange could have said no, as he is the adult and the Avenger in command. People had expectations, and he did not meet them.
Spider-Man: No Way Home picks us right where the action of Far From Home ended. J. Jonah Jameson is now Spider-Man enemy – he broadcasted fake footage of the London incident in which Mysterio frames him for his murder. That’s also when we learn about Mysterio’s secret identity, Quentin Beck.
Far From Home came with a credits scene which was actually the opening scene for No Way Home. Peter asks Doctor Strange for a cure after this life gets turned upside down, and he opens the multiverse by mistake. That portal opened for many villains to come from other timelines.
