We know that Season 2 of Euphoria is finally happening! HBO has revealed that the cast will return for Season 2, and we can thank Zendaya for winning the award for Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Rue Bennett in the series.
The history of Euphoria
The show is an adaptation of an Israeli show, which presents us the lives of high school kids, and how they deal with their teenage problems. We’re talking drama, romance, sex, narcotics, breakdowns, which have kept the audience on the edge of their seats every week. 5.5 million people viewed the season premiere.
What happened in season 1?
We’ve met the characters, and we’ve seen what happened to them. Rue managed to get worse, Jules left for a better city, and Kat and Ethan are together. Cassie wants an abortion, and Maddy is a thief – stealing inculpatory CDs from Nate’s place.
At the end of Season 1, we’ve learned that HBO gave the show the green light for the second season.
So when is the release date?
Of course, since we’re dealing with a pandemic, this had an impact on the production of the show. Initially, the team wanted to release the second season a year after the first one. But now, keeping in mind the pandemic, Season 2 will probably be released in 2022.
The cast of Season 2
According to Sam Levinson, the writer of the show, Rue did not die. So we know for sure that Zendaya will be back, as well as Angus Cloud, in the role of Fezco. It seems that Jules will be back, as well. Rumor has it, there will also be some new actors joining the cast, but we are bound to find out more soon.
