Tom Loeffler often the leading figure publicly of promotional entity K2 Promotions, has revealed that has set up and founded his own promotional company. Loeffler has set up the company titled 360 Promotions, which will be based in Los Angeles, California in the United States.
The reasoning behind Loeffler’s decision to set up his own promotional outlet is it will allow Loeffler the ability to sign and work with more fighters, something which he cannot do under his current standing within K2 Promotions. K2 promotions were founded by Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko. Tom went on to explain the reasoning why he took the step to create 360 promotions to boxingscene.com editor, Steve Kim:
“It’s going to be called ‘360 Promotions’ which signifies that we do shows all over the world and we also work with everybody, meaning it’s an inclusive circle,” Loeffler told BoxingScene.com.
Loeffler explained further – “The reason to start the new company is that GGG Promotions will do all of Gennady’s fights, K2 will do (Oleksandr) Usyk’s and Cecilia Braekus fights, in conjunction with K2 Ukraine for Usyk and 360 will give me more and leeway to sign other fighters.”
The highly anticipated “Superfly 2” card scheduled to take place on February 24, California, will see the debut of 360 promotions, who will be the lead promoter of the headlined by Srisaket Sor Rungvisai. Rungvisai will be defending his WBC world super-flyweight title against former unified flyweight world champion and mandatory challenger Juan Francisco Estrada.
Following February 24th’s promotion, Loefller also confirmed too the publication and Steve Kim that 360 Promotions will be launching a “club series” of regular fight-cards prominently within the Los Angeles area. The series is expected to begin in March of 2018 states Loeffler, suggesting the first card will be taking place in Hollywood:
“The club series should start the month later in March and we’re looking at having it in Los Angeles. Right now it’s slated to be a Hollywood-based series.”
Tom Loeffler is still working with unified middleweight world titleholder Gennady Golovkin, currently in talks with Golden Boy Promotions regarding a highly anticipated rematch with Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, rumoured to be provisionally slated for May 5th.
